Once again, a bureaucrat who’s supposed to be responsible for protecting our tax dollars crumbles under the simplest question. The director overseeing SNAP benefits was put on the spot this week when she couldn’t give a straight answer about whether people need sodas—yes, sodas—to survive. Anyone with common sense knows the answer: of course not! But the left has gotten so used to wasting other people’s money, dodging accountability, and feeding Big Food companies that they can’t even admit the obvious.
SNAP is supposed to help struggling Americans put food on the table. Instead, billions go toward junk food and sugary drinks, with soft drinks being the single biggest item purchased. That’s not “nutrition assistance.” That’s a taxpayer-funded payday for Coca-Cola and the processed food industry. And when the director was asked whether her own organization is bankrolled by these same big food corporations getting fat off welfare money? She tap-danced around the question and acted clueless. But the facts are clear: These groups are making big bucks off American taxpayers. Where’s the outrage from the supposed champions of the poor?
It gets worse. Fraud is completely out of control in these programs—$10 billion just vanished in one year, with almost no accountability. Some states won’t even share the data needed to catch scammers. Why? Because the left doesn’t care about stopping abuse as long as they can keep the handouts flowing. It’s corruption, plain and simple—and every honest American is footing the bill.
Let’s call this what it is: the liberal welfare-industrial complex at work. Politicians hand out more and more free stuff, pretend it’s about compassion, and then turn a blind eye as big corporations and fraudsters rake it in. Meanwhile, Americans trying to make ends meet see their hard-earned money being wasted on government bloat and corporate giveaways, all in the name of “helping.”
When will we have the guts to say enough is enough? If SNAP is really about feeding the hungry, why are billions in taxpayer dollars being used to buy soda pop and snack foods? Why are the same companies cashing in on the program funding advocacy groups to keep the scam going? Liberals want you to believe it’s heartless to ask questions or demand reform. The real heartlessness is selling out our country for political favors and cheap votes. How much longer will Americans tolerate this anti-commonsense madness?
