It’s getting ridiculous watching Democrats scramble to defend the indefensible. Case in point: Democrat Mary Gay Scanlon is now making wild claims that a simple voter ID law—the SAVE Act—would shut out half the voters in Pennsylvania. Let’s get real. All the SAVE Act does is ask people to show proof they are who they say they are when voting. That’s basic common sense. You need ID to buy beer, board a plane, or enter many government buildings. But according to Scanlon and her far-left friends, it’s somehow “unfair” to expect voters to do the same in our elections.
The left loves to scream about “voter suppression” whenever someone tries to secure our elections. What they won’t admit is that most Americans—black, white, young, old—already have IDs. In fact, the vast majority support requiring identification for voting. Democrats know this. Still, they push the lie that voter ID is some kind of “racist” tool. It’s the same tired excuse every single time, but they refuse to talk about the real threat: non-citizens sneaking onto our voter rolls and corrupting our democracy.
It seems the only people “disenfranchised” by voter ID laws are the ones who have something to hide—or the politicians counting on their votes. If you can’t prove who you are at the polls, you shouldn’t be voting at all. Why are Democrats so desperate to stop laws like the SAVE Act? Maybe because they know a clean, fair election threatens their grip on power.
Once again, we have liberals trying to turn basic security into a partisan battle. They act like showing a driver’s license is an impossible burden. Meanwhile, border chaos continues, and states like Pennsylvania are left wide open to fraud. Are we supposed to believe that America’s heartland can’t handle the same rules required to cash a check at the grocery store?
Democrats are running out of excuses, but they never run out of ways to insult the intelligence of hardworking Americans. The real question is, who’s really being “disenfranchised” here—citizens demanding honest elections, or the politicians terrified of losing their favorite loopholes? Looks like it’s time for the left to admit the truth: if you’re afraid of voter ID, maybe you’re not fit to represent the American people in the first place.
