If you ever needed more proof that liberals simply cannot stand it when America wins, just look at how they’re reacting to the World Cup. The stadiums are packed, fans are cheering, and the tournament is running smoother than anyone predicted. Over three and a half million people have already poured into the stands. But guess what? Liberals aren’t celebrating. They’re stewing in their own misery, because success in America never fits their doom-and-gloom narrative.
Why are the left so upset? Because they were hoping for a disaster. Before a single ball was kicked, Democrats were wringing their hands about imaginary problems—crying about ticket prices, whining about who got public funding, and huffing about foreign visitors. Anything, just anything, to make President Trump look bad. The second things started going well, you could hear the teeth grinding all the way from Washington. No riots. No disasters. Just Americans coming together and showing the world how it’s done.
And now, after weeks of winning, the liberals have been forced to face reality. Some of their own so-called leaders who used to bash the games are suddenly acting like cheerleaders. How convenient. Even worse, they’ll admit things ran smoothly, but they choke on giving President Trump or conservatives any credit. They’d rather bite their tongues than admit that America—under Republican leadership—can actually pull off something the rest of the world envies.
What does this all say about the left? That their hatred for Trump outweighs their love for America. It’s not about soccer, or sports, or even taxpayers. It’s about power and bitterness. If anything goes well while Trump is in the picture, liberals act like someone just kicked their favorite puppy. Deep down, they want to see things fall apart, just so they can lecture everyone and blame conservatives.
Meanwhile, average Americans see right through the act. The World Cup has become another example of how the elites in the media and the Democrat Party want to rain on every parade. The more America thrives, the angrier the left gets. Maybe next time they should root for their own country instead of crossing their fingers for failure. But that’s probably asking too much from the crowd that never seems happy unless everyone else is miserable.
