Let’s be clear. Most Parisians live packed into tiny apartments with little relief from scorching temperatures. Less than six percent have any kind of air conditioning. Sweating it out in sweltering homes, what little comfort people could find—like enjoying a cold drink after a hot day—is being snatched away by government busybodies who act like nannies, not leaders.

It’s classic left-wing hypocrisy. The politicians who make these rules aren’t baking in tiny flats like everyone else. They’re sipping champagne in luxury offices, blissfully unaware of the misery they’re making worse. They claim an alcohol ban will save people from heat-related illness, but really, it’s about controlling adults and treating them like children. Meanwhile, real problems—like affordable energy and modernizing outdated apartments—remain completely ignored.

This so-called “solution” exposes just how disconnected socialists are from the lives of regular people. Banning alcohol during a heatwave won’t keep people safe. It’ll just make daily life even more joyless and oppressive. Instead of fixing the real issue—like investing in proper infrastructure or allowing people basic comforts—these globalist elites stick to micromanaging every aspect of citizens’ lives.

Why does the left always want more control, instead of respecting personal responsibility? Maybe they’re just jealous that regular people can still find ways to have a little fun.
