There’s no denying it: Caitlin Clark is the only reason most Americans are even saying the words “WNBA” these days. The league finally got the star it’s been begging for. But of course, the woke crowd can’t handle it. Why? Because she doesn’t fit their perfect little narrative. She isn’t black, she isn’t gay, and she doesn’t play the victim card. She just plays to win — and brings the ratings with her.
So what does the league do with this gift? The suits at the top decide to snub her. Clark gets left off promotional materials, and while the insiders like to pretend it’s a “seniority thing,” that’s a joke. Veterans aren’t the problem. Players like Paige Bueckers and Angel Reese somehow make all the covers, but Clark, the face of the moment, gets cast aside. It’s an obvious, petty move. The WNBA seems hellbent on sabotaging its own potential just to avoid upsetting the most radical corners of the activist left.
And if being ignored by the league execs wasn’t bad enough, Clark has to put up with blatant cheap shots out on the court. The latest? Phoenix’s Alyssa Thomas literally punched Clark in the throat right in front of the refs—no whistle, no call, as if everyone just agreed to look the other way. Thanks to the video replay (which apparently the officials couldn’t bother using during the game), the league had to suspend Thomas after the fact. Even Clark’s own coach had to call out the disgusting non-call, pointing out just how obvious and unacceptable this double standard has become.
But don’t expect accountability from the left. Take a look at the Phoenix coaching staff. Kristi Toliver, an associate head coach, rushed to social media and quoted Michelle Obama, acting like Clark was some kind of bully who had it coming. Sorry, but confusing a physical assault for “speaking truth to power” is about as delusional as it gets. This isn’t a fight against imaginary oppression. It’s a grown woman punching America’s biggest female sports star in the neck on national TV — and the activist class calling it “justice.”
Liberals love to talk about inclusion — until someone shows up who threatens their carefully built victim pyramid. Caitlin Clark is proving that the American dream still works: you play well, you win, you get the spotlight. The radical left can’t stand it because she’s not their kind of icon. If the WNBA would put politics aside and embrace the only player who could actually fill their empty seats, the league might finally matter. But until then, they’ll keep tripping over their own anti-American bias, leaving true sports fans shaking their heads.
