New York City just showed America exactly what’s wrong with the Democratic Party. Barely 17% — yes, seventeen percent! — of Democrats bothered to show up for their primaries. That’s all it took to decide who will run the city with its sky-high taxes, rampant crime, and broken schools. Anyone paying attention should be outraged.
Let’s look at who these voters are. The turnout was heavily white, mostly under 30 years old, and dripping with college degrees. The liberal elite will tell you that this is the next generation of leaders. If that’s true, this country had better buckle up. These so-called “informed” young people don’t even show up to pick their own party’s candidates. They’re supposed to be the most engaged, but they can’t be bothered to leave the house unless they’re headed to a protest or posting a hashtag. Scratch the surface of their education and you find a shocking ignorance of American history and basic civic duty.
This isn’t just about New York City. It’s a perfect snapshot of the left’s failures across the country. Democrats talk a big game about “democracy dying in darkness,” but where are they when it counts? Their globalist, anti-American policies strip people of pride and responsibility. Then they act surprised when nobody wants to participate in their primary circus. The liberal policies have left people so apathetic, so disconnected, that only a sliver of the population cares enough to vote.
Meanwhile, the radicals who do bother to vote are dragging the entire party even further left. A tiny, woke minority gets to control the direction of the whole city. Regular people — the working class, families, taxpayers — are left on the sidelines, watching as their neighborhoods fall apart thanks to elite neglect and soft-on-crime policies. This is what happens when Democrats run things into the ground: people tune out, chaos takes over, and the only ones left in charge are the loudest activists.
Maybe the solution isn’t more get-out-the-vote drives for these so-called progressives. Maybe the answer is to bring back real leaders who believe in America. Stop letting uninformed, spoiled college kids dictate policy. Let’s face facts: New York City’s “democracy” isn’t working when the only voices heard are the ones cheering for more madness. How long will ordinary citizens let this circus continue?
