It’s almost impossible to find a night in New York City where Democrats don’t screw things up. But shockingly, there’s a small ray of hope shining from Midtown Manhattan. While the rest of the city picked the usual parade of left-wing radicals and anti-Israel bigots, Midtown voters did something rare for Democrats—they chose someone who won’t sell out our allies or bow to the woke mob.
Micah Lasher isn’t perfect—he’s a Democrat, after all. But even in this sea of progressive insanity, Lasher stood out for one simple reason: he supports Israel and refuses to kneel before the left’s pathetic cries about so-called “genocide.” Even as far-left activists, campus radicals, and self-righteous progressives try to paint Israel as some kind of villain, Lasher made it clear he isn’t buying the propaganda. He’s not embarrassed to defend America’s biggest partner in the Middle East. Imagine that—backing our friends instead of caving to anti-American, globalist interests for once!
Let’s be honest, most of the Democratic candidates citywide are just clones of each other. They love open borders, sky-high taxes, and policies that make life miserable for the average New Yorker. But in Midtown, at least voters made a decision that didn’t completely abandon common sense. Supporting arms sales to Israel isn’t just good foreign policy—it’s the bare minimum we should expect from anyone who claims to care about our security and our values.
Why is it so hard for Democrats to reject the radical fringe? Maybe it’s because their party’s leadership is more interested in appeasing anti-cop protesters and leftist lunatics than in keeping America safe. Most of these politicians are terrified to push back against the nonsense. Midtown’s pick shows there’s a tiny sliver of hope, but let’s not kid ourselves—this is the exception, not the rule. The rest of the city can’t seem to spot a bad idea even when it bites them in the wallet or trashes their streets.
It took just one good decision among a pile of terrible ones to remind us what New York could be if the adults took charge again. If Democrats keep listening to people who call America and its allies “evil,” they’ll keep running things into the ground. Wouldn’t it be nice if more voters had the guts Midtown just showed, and told the radical left: enough is enough?
