Once again, House Republicans are doing what Democrats refuse to do: defend American elections. For the fourth time, they’ve lined up to pass the SAVE America Act—a bill that does something so obvious, it’s shocking there’s even debate. The bill simply requires that voters prove they’re citizens before casting a ballot in federal elections. That’s right—show a valid ID, prove you’re a citizen, and then you get a say in the country’s future. Who could possibly oppose that? Only the radical left and their globalist allies, apparently.
Speaker Mike Johnson is making it clear that Republicans aren’t backing down from this commonsense protection. He’s said it before and he means it: only Americans should decide America’s destiny. The left loves to talk about “democracy.” But when it comes to actually protecting our elections from foreign interference or fraud, they run for the hills—or worse, they collude with a handful of RINOs to block the will of the people.
Look at what’s happening in the Senate. Four so-called Republicans—Thom Tillis, Lisa Murkowski, Mitch McConnell, and Susan Collins—teamed up with Democrats to kill the SAVE America Act last time. They didn’t just stab conservatives in the back. They betrayed the very idea of citizenship itself. How can anyone claim to represent American values while refusing to secure our elections? These are supposed to be “public servants,” not globalist lackeys desperate for mainstream media approval.
Liberals lash out and call voter ID laws “voter suppression.” That’s nonsense, and they know it. They want open borders and open voting booths, because it gives them the power to rig the system in their favor. If you need ID to buy Sudafed or board a plane, why shouldn’t you need it to help pick the leader of the free world? It’s insulting to claim Americans are too incompetent to get a basic identification card.
Republicans are fighting for laws that 90% of Americans support. But the swamp creatures in Washington, DC, just keep playing their games. They’d rather block meaningful reforms than admit the country is demanding real security and accountability at the ballot box. Why? Because the last thing the left (and their RINO friends) want is a government actually answerable to the American people.
How many more times will Congress need to “save America” before the elite left finally listens? Maybe the real question is—do they even care what the American people want anymore?
