David Jolly is not who he says he is. For years, he posed as a Republican in Florida’s 13th district, but now he’s the darling of the Democrat Left, running for governor with a gun control plan straight out of the West Coast. Jolly openly brags about switching sides and dropping his so-called “traditional” views on firearms. Now, he wants to turn Florida into the next New Jersey—where honest gun owners get treated like criminals.
Jolly is pushing the same tired, fake “common sense” measures Democrats use as a Trojan horse for outright gun bans. He talks about banning so-called “assault weapons”—which are really just many of America’s most popular rifles. He rants about mandating universal background checks, which would even block private transfers between grandparents and grandkids. He fawns over red-flag laws ripe for abuse and supports forcing every gun owner to buy expensive liability insurance—pricing the poor out of their constitutional rights. It’s regulation by strangulation—and Democrats always pretend they’re “only asking for reasonable steps” until the last gun is gone.
Here’s the hard truth: Not one of Jolly’s proposals would have stopped the Pulse nightclub shooter, the very tragedy he uses as an excuse to attack the Second Amendment. That violent criminal passed every background check, had a weapons license, and worked as a security guard. But Jolly doesn’t care—he just wants to punish millions of law-abiding Floridians for the evil acts of a few. The Left’s entire gun control playbook is built on lies and emotional blackmail—ignoring that criminals, by definition, break the law and will ignore Jolly’s new rules just like they ignore the old ones.
When Democrats take power, gun rights vanish. Just look at Virginia, where liberals rushed to ban rifles, drag out background checks, and harass honest citizens. In California and New Jersey, crime is spiraling out of control, but the only people Democrats punish are those trying to defend themselves. That’s the “progress” David Jolly wants to bring to Florida—and anyone who disagrees gets smeared as a right-wing extremist.
Under Governor Ron DeSantis, Florida did the exact opposite. DeSantis tore up pointless barriers to carrying concealed weapons and made it clear that Floridians don’t need permission slips to exercise their God-given rights. Violent crime stayed in check while blue cities like Chicago and San Francisco devolved into chaos. It wasn’t “common sense” gun control that kept Florida safe. It was trusting citizens, not treating them like the enemy.
This November, Florida stands at a crossroads. Voters can hand the keys to a radical rebranded liberal who wants to copy totalitarian blue states—or stick with the proven path of freedom and security. How many times must law-abiding people surrender their rights for empty promises and failed liberal experiments? If you think California’s gun laws are a model for America, Jolly is your guy. For everyone else: keep your eyes open, your mind sharp, and your vote ready.
