Hollywood did it again. They bet big on another woke superhero movie, and the result is a disaster. The big-budget “Supergirl” was supposed to soar to box office glory. Instead, it’s crashing and burning, already looking at a staggering $100 million loss. This is what happens when leftists in Hollywood care more about pushing their agenda than creating stories anyone actually wants to see.
They thought slapping a cape on a “girl boss” and stuffing the script with identity politics would bring Hollywood bags of cash. The DCU and the woke warriors at Warner Bros. apparently forgot that audiences want heroes who inspire, not lectures that bore them. People are tired of being patronized by multimillionaire elites who live behind gated walls, yet preach about oppression and empowerment from movie studios that answer only to globalist interests.
It’s no accident that so many of these modern superhero films flop harder with every release. Hollywood keeps ignoring the values and tastes of middle America—the same folks who used to make their movies hits. Instead of strong family stories, respect for tradition, or genuine heroism, they give us shallow tokenism on the big screen. They shove in progressive slogans, hoping to check all the right boxes for the Twitter mobs, but forget the paying customer.
“Supergirl” was built up as the next big thing. It was promoted at every turn, hyped up by the mainstream media, and crammed down the throats of kids and families everywhere. Now, reality is smacking the studios right in the face, and they can’t hide from the facts. No amount of spin makes up for empty seats and lost millions.
Will Tinseltown ever learn, or will they keep throwing money into the blender, churning out flops while calling middle America “the problem”? Maybe the real superpower here is Hollywood’s ability to ignore everyday Americans. At this rate, they better start making movies for each other—because fewer and fewer of us are buying tickets.
