Once again, evil reared its ugly head in Lubbock, Texas. This time, law enforcement had to leap into action to stop a potential mass shooter targeting a Pride event. Every American, no matter their opinion about Pride parades, should breathe a sigh of relief that police caught this maniac before anyone was hurt. But can anyone really say they’re surprised? The lunatic fringe is always looking for a reason to start trouble—and too often, our leaders are asleep at the wheel.
The suspect—someone who actually worked for the Post Office, of all things—had been spewing threats online. It took the FBI stepping in to shut him down. You’d think with all the taxpayer money poured into so-called “community safety” programs, the local woke city councils and district attorneys might have stopped this before it escalated. But as usual, they’re too busy virtue-signaling about “inclusion” to deal with real threats to public safety. The American people deserve better.
Here’s the painful truth: liberal incompetence and weak-on-crime policies put the rest of us in danger. Instead of empowering the police to track down bad guys, the talking heads on the left are more focused on policing pronouns and making excuses for criminals. Thankfully, the FBI did their job here, but how many more warnings will it take before leftist politicians realize their soft approach just isn’t working?
The hypocrisy is hard to stomach. These same liberals who want to defund the police turn around and scream for help the minute there’s a genuine threat. Maybe if they’d stop demonizing law enforcement and let them do their jobs, the country would be a lot safer—for everyone, left or right.
Pride event or not, all Americans should be able to walk down the street without worrying about their safety. But we won’t get there by burying our heads in the sand and pretending evil doesn’t exist. Leaders need to stop pandering to globalist talking points and focus on what really matters: protecting the innocent and punishing the guilty. Is that too much to ask—or is that just too “controversial” for the woke crowd?
