NPR just got caught spreading a wild lie about Justice Alito and their excuse is beyond ridiculous

The left-wing media meltdown reached a new low this week, and this time, it’s simply too ridiculous to ignore. Fresh off the final Supreme Court decisions of the term, an NPR “reporter” spread wildly false claims that Justice Samuel Alito, a steadfast conservative, was set to retire. Minutes later, the story vanished in a cloud of confusion and cowardly retractions.

It’s telling that NPR’s first reaction wasn’t to apologize or even to tell readers what mistake they made. Instead, they quietly wiped the story and slapped up a vague message with no answers. Only after the backlash piled up did their top editor crawl out with a pathetic excuse: the story was due to a “misunderstanding.” No details. No ownership of the error. Just out-of-touch arrogance on full display.

And then the explanation only got more ridiculous. Supposedly, their veteran Supreme Court reporter—someone the media hails as beyond reproach—just “misheard” the Chief Justice, confusingly believing Alito would be gone. Without a single check, not even a phone call to Alito’s office, the newsroom rushed to push the story. Apparently, “journalism” now means believing whatever a liberal darling overhears and printing it as fact.

Here’s the game: They claim this mistake happened because their so-called expert is too respected to bother with facts. That’s laughable. This is what happens when media elites get drunk on their own self-importance. They feel they don’t owe the American people anything—truth, accuracy, or even basic competence. The left’s favorite outlets have become little more than rumor mills, eager to push anti-conservative narratives as quickly as possible.

The real question is, who benefits from smearing a rock-solid conservative Justice right as the Court is pushing back on the progressive agenda? With globalists and the radical left desperate for control, it’s no wonder their allies in the press will invent stories out of thin air to shake public confidence. Americans deserve better than this circus. How long are we supposed to let the liberal media play pretend and call it “news”?
