Democrats once stood strong beside Israel, America’s only true ally in the Middle East. But it’s become obvious that today’s Left doesn’t even pretend to share those values anymore. The party of Harry Truman, who rushed to recognize Israel’s right to exist just minutes after its founding, has twisted itself into knots to appease radicals who openly despise Israel.
Democrats used to lead the charge in Congress to protect Israel’s security and sovereignty. Now, many of their loudest voices sound more like anti-Israel activists than lawmakers. They throw around tired buzzwords like “occupation” and “colonization,” playing right into the hands of those who want to wipe Israel off the map. Are these the same Democrats who claim to champion human rights and democracy? Or is that all just a mask when it doesn’t fit their far-left agenda?
The hypocrisy is staggering. While Republicans champion our friendship with Israel and value the shared ideals of democracy and freedom, too many Democrats are bending over backwards for globalists and far-left zealots. They attack Israel for defending itself, but look the other way when terrorists slaughter innocent civilians. If it fits the woke narrative, anything goes for the modern Democratic Party—even if that means throwing our closest ally under the bus.
Let’s call this what it is: a party losing its soul. The Democratic elite try to act outraged about antisemitism in America, but turn a blind eye when the anti-Israel mob trashes Jewish students and communities. Instead of standing with the only pro-American voice in a hostile region, they’d rather placate socialist activists obsessed with blaming Israel for the world’s problems.
The Left is abandoning Israel, plain and simple. Republicans are the only ones left defending the truth: Israel has a right to exist and defend itself. When will Democrats stop kowtowing to radicals and start putting American allies first again? Or is the old party of Truman gone for good?
