Just when Americans should be celebrating a huge milestone—the 250th birthday of the greatest country on Earth—Democrat-run Columbus, Ohio, threw patriotism straight out the window. Instead of uniting under the Stars and Stripes, city officials actually flew the flag of Somalia at city hall. That’s right. On the very week America is supposed to be honored, the government decided to hoist a foreign flag. You can’t make this stuff up.
Liberals like to talk a lot about “inclusion” and “unity,” but what they don’t care about is American pride. The only flag that belongs on government buildings during our national birthday is the American flag. But Democrats just couldn’t resist using even this moment to virtue signal and cozy up to globalist interests. Why remember what actually binds us together when you can tick a few boxes for the woke crowd on social media?
Of course, the outrage was immediate—and deserved. Americans of all backgrounds know that honoring another nation’s independence on July 4th weakens our national spirit. It sends a clear message: the left would rather kneel to political correctness than stand up for the United States. This isn’t about diversity anymore; it’s about erasing the very values and traditions that make our country special.
The post celebrating Somalia’s independence didn’t last long online. Guess what? Screenshots are forever. Trying to cover up this embarrassment shows these officials know exactly what they did wrong. Democrats in Columbus had one simple job for America’s big 250th birthday: Raise Old Glory high and proud. They couldn’t even get that right.
If they can’t be trusted to honor the flag, why would anyone trust them to run a city, a state, or the country? Maybe it’s time to ask—how much more of this anti-American nonsense are we supposed to tolerate?
