For years, Americans have watched in frustration as Democrats twist themselves into knots to defend the worst ideas their party has to offer. Now we see it again—this time with Colorado’s senator John Hickenlooper making excuses for his party’s latest radical, Melat Kiros. Instead of condemning her outrageous suggestion that the United States somehow deserved 9/11, Hickenlooper simply shrugs and says the party is a “big tent.” It’s a slap in the face to every American who remembers where they were that terrible day.
Let’s be clear—there is no excuse, no justification, for blaming America for one of the deadliest terror attacks ever carried out on our own soil. But the modern Democratic Party seems more concerned with “inclusivity” than with basic decency. Giving cover to someone who refuses to call out antisemitism and instead shifts blame onto the country she wants to represent is pure insanity. But this is what happens when the far-left takes over: up becomes down, right becomes wrong, and America is always to blame.
We’re watching liberal leaders throw principle out the window to appease their activist base. Hickenlooper’s response isn’t leadership—it’s cowardice. Instead of taking a stand for American values, he wants us to believe that being “open-minded” means tolerating anti-American rhetoric. That’s not big-tent politics—that’s moral bankruptcy in action.
Democrats wonder why so many Americans no longer trust them. Maybe it’s because every time their radicals attack the country or side-step clear acts of hate, party leaders shrug and smile. The left likes to brag about tolerance, but apparently, it only goes one way. If you love this country, stand up for it, or dare to defend Western values, you’re cast aside. But blame America for terrorism or refuse to call out antisemitism? Suddenly, you’re just part of the “diverse” family.
When will the left stop treating America like the villain? Maybe when ordinary citizens demand better. Until then, expect more excuses, more finger-pointing, and more so-called “leaders” afraid to choose sides. The only big tent liberals care about is the one big enough to shelter every anti-American grievance imaginable. How long before their tent collapses under its own twisted priorities?
