America is about to celebrate its 250th birthday. You’d expect fireworks, flags, and a proud display of patriotism. But in cities like Buffalo, New York, it seems Democratic leaders would rather hoist the Somali flag than the American one. That’s right—just days before Independence Day, while city officials canceled July 4th celebrations, they found time and energy to raise the flag of a foreign country at City Hall.
This isn’t an isolated incident. Columbus, Ohio did the same thing. Two American cities in one week decided that honoring Somali Independence Day—far removed from any real connection to America—took priority over the birth of the greatest nation on earth. Of course, city leaders tried to wrap their decision to cancel the fireworks in excuses about “safety” and “logistics.” But we all know these are just weak cover stories for a far-left agenda that wants to erase what makes America special.
It’s not about being inclusive. It’s about sending a message that American pride is old-fashioned, even shameful. The left runs around talking about how diverse and tolerant they are, yet they never seem to show the same enthusiasm for Old Glory as they do for flags from overseas. If the city cared one bit about patriotism, they’d find a way to light up the sky for the Fourth of July. Instead, they’re eager to tear down American traditions to signal their globalist “values.”
This trend isn’t just disappointing—it’s dangerous. When leaders refuse to honor their own country but trip over themselves to celebrate others, they teach the next generation that American history doesn’t matter. It’s a deliberate slap in the face to every veteran, every immigrant who worked to become an American, and every kid who wants to look up to our flag and feel proud.
America deserves better than leadership that panders to global interests and shoves our traditions aside. If they can’t find a spot for fireworks, maybe it’s because they’re too busy making room for another country’s flag. At this rate, will these Democrats ever stop apologizing for being Americans?
