NYC Mayor bakes citizens at 78 degrees while chilling in frosty City Hall luxury

New Yorkers are getting yet another taste of liberal hypocrisy — and this time, it’s coming straight from the top. Mayor Mamdani, the self-appointed climate crusader, thinks it’s perfectly fine to let the citizens of the greatest city in America roast at a scorching 78 degrees. All in the name of “energy conservation,” of course. Yet, when you step inside City Hall, it feels more like an iced-down luxury cruise than a government office. The thermostat is set way lower than what Mamdani demands for hardworking families and small businesses.

This is the classic playbook for progressives. They lay down suffocating rules for the rest of us, but when it comes to their own comfort or convenience? Suddenly, exceptions are made. Ordinary people are told to sweat it out in sweltering apartments and overheated workplaces, just so the mayor and his pals can relax in cool, taxpayer-funded offices.

It’s a clear signal of whose interests really matter to these woke elites. The so-called “green agenda” isn’t about saving the planet. It’s about controlling people — and carving out cushy perks for the political class. Why should a single New Yorker suffer through May and June humidity while the mayor chills in an icebox? Because, to these liberals, the rules simply don’t apply to them.

And who gets hit hardest by these latest schemes? Not the globalist donors who back Mamdani’s campaign, and certainly not the special interests stuffing City Hall. It’s the average American, working every day to pay bills, now forced to sacrifice basic comfort for the sake of some virtue-signaling climate stunt. We’re told to endure, to do “our part,” while the people making these rules never live by them.

So here we are—living under a two-tiered system: one for progressive politicians, and another for regular folks just trying to get by. Maybe next time the mayor wants to lecture us about “shared sacrifice,” he should start by walking the walk… and sweating alongside the people he supposedly serves. Or is that just too much to ask from our pampered liberal leaders?
