While most Americans were lighting fireworks and celebrating freedom, gun control activists were busy trying to take it away. On the nation’s birthday, yet another anti-gun group demanded politicians rip apart the Second Amendment. Only in 2026 could a group celebrate Independence Day by begging the government to strip away individual rights.
Gabby Giffords, who’s married to a well-known leftist senator, used the holiday not to celebrate liberty, but to push for crazy new gun restrictions. She pushed for so-called “universal background checks,” red flag laws that can strip away your rights with a phone call, licenses just to practice your constitutional right, and even bans on homemade firearms. These are the same tired ideas that have failed over and over—and for good reason. Americans know what happens when the government decides who deserves to be armed: only the elites and criminals are left with power.
Apparently, anyone who doesn’t go along with this radical agenda is now an “extremist.” Ordinary people who support the Bill of Rights are called dangerous. It’s the same old smear from the gun-grabbers: disagree with them, and you’re a threat to “democracy.” But here’s the truth—the real threat is any politician or activist who cheers on taking away your God-given rights.
Of course, this anti-gun group wouldn’t let Americans respond. Their article on social media didn’t even allow comments. When you can’t defend your ideas without silencing debate, it’s pretty clear you’re scared of what the people actually think. But, as always, gun owners fight back, and took to social media anyway—loud, proud, and patriotic.
Liberals try every trick in the book to undermine the Constitution. But for every scare tactic and every lecture from the ivory tower, two more Americans decide to buy their first firearm. In the end, every gun control tantrum only boosts support for the Second Amendment. So here’s a thought: if you’re spending Independence Day demanding more government control, maybe you’re the one who needs a lesson in American history—not the millions who proudly defend their freedoms.
