On the eve of Independence Day, when most leftist-run cities are busy defunding police and tearing down statues, real Americans in Philadelphia gathered for a good old-fashioned Benjamin Franklin lookalike contest. No, not a gender studies seminar. Not a globalist climate protest. This was a grassroots tribute to one of our greatest Founding Fathers.
This was America in action, folks. Flyers went up around the city. Word spread on Reddit, of all places. People showed up, not for handouts or safe spaces, but to celebrate a titan of American freedom—by looking just like him. The crowd was bigger than anyone expected. Try pulling off a spontaneous, patriotic event like that in San Francisco or New York. It wouldn’t happen, because progressives are too busy trying to erase history, not honor it.
There wasn’t an army of woke corporate sponsors throwing money at this event. No help from clueless city officials, either. Just regular citizens, united by pride in their history and heritage. This is what happens when Americans act on their own—something the left can’t understand. For liberals, patriotism is a dirty word. For true Americans, it’s a badge of honor.
While the cultural elite scoff at our founding principles, real people still hold them high. A crowd of men in bifocals and breeches has more class and character than the entire Ivy League faculty put together. It’s a reminder that you don’t need flashy, progressive nonsense to bring people together. Just a love of freedom, and maybe a pair of wire-rimmed glasses.
The left keeps pushing the lie that loving America is outdated, that honoring our founders is somehow controversial. Meanwhile, families in Philadelphia are making history fun, not something to be ashamed of. This contest wasn’t just about costumes. It was about remembering where we came from and refusing to let liberals rewrite the story. Maybe if more cities stopped listening to the woke mob and started listening to their own citizens, America could look a lot more like Philadelphia on the Fourth of July. Or maybe the real question is: will the left ever appreciate real American culture, or are they just too busy canceling it?
