They say real socialism has never been tried. Tell that to the starving families in Venezuela. Socialist leaders promised paradise. They delivered chaos, corruption, and suffering. That’s not some faraway warning. That’s a blueprint the American Left now wants to slap over the greatest country in history.
In Venezuela, socialism took control and the results were tragic. Everyday people couldn’t get food, even resorting to eating pets and animals from zoos while politicians feasted in mansions. The government was filled with overpaid cronies and folks who hadn’t worked in years. Yet, when disaster struck—like the recent earthquakes—the state’s so-called “support” went only to the well-connected. If you’re rich and close to the regime, you live. If you’re a regular citizen, you’re on your own.
But don’t think the Left is finished. They’ve rebranded pure socialism as “democratic” socialism. The promises haven’t changed: free housing, healthcare, college, food—just take a little from the rich, right? What they won’t say is that the rich always run. They move their money out, jobs disappear, and regular people get taxed into poverty. Look no further than California’s shiny new wealth tax. That’s being marketed as a hit on billionaires, but hidden rules will make everyone pay, even the working class. Does anyone believe the same crew that lost trillions in tax dollars to red states has a clue how to run anything?
Don’t forget how these leftist policies always lead to picking favorites and rewarding their buddies. In Venezuela, earthquake aid went straight to buildings where the elite lived, while everyone else was ignored. That’s where socialism always leads—government handing out favors to friends and punishing enemies. Americans have already seen weaponization of the government under left-wing bureaucrats, from targeting Trump supporters to denying fair disaster response.
This is what happens when the Left gets a taste of power: today’s “rights” become tomorrow’s bargaining chips—your healthcare, your home, your children’s future, all handed out at their pleasure. Suddenly, your very survival depends on whether you’re on the government’s “good” list. Anyone who doubts this should watch what Democrats threaten to do next: bans on free speech, new taxes, and rules that punish conservatives for daring to fight back.
America fought like hell for freedom 250 years ago. The threat today isn’t a king in a castle across the sea—it’s open borders, imported ideas, and radical Democrats who want to “remake” America in Venezuela’s image. The question is simple: Are Americans really ready to let these socialist wannabes destroy everything our founders built? Or is it time to stand and fight, before we all get the Venezuela treatment?
