While most of the world paused to honor America’s 250th birthday, the American left saw another chance to throw a tantrum. It’s not enough for these folks to just ignore the greatness of July 4th. No, some blue cities actively tried to snuff out the spirit. Musicians with too much time on their hands canceled shows. Politicians took cheap shots at the President—because apparently bashing America is more important than celebrating its freedom.
What happened to loving this country? July 4, 1776, is the day everything changed. It’s the reason citizens live free, the reason America stands as the world’s beacon of hope. While global landmarks shined red, white, and blue, far too many liberals acted embarrassed by their own flag. It’s almost as if they’re rooting against the land that lets them protest in the first place.
Look at who’s actually showing respect. All over Europe, cities lit up in America’s honor—places that used to be the center of the world now celebrate our rise. Yet back home, the left’s leaders barely hide their disdain. They gripe about the Founding Fathers, the Constitution, and the very birth of a nation most people would do anything to join. Who knew celebrating the freedoms we all enjoy would be so controversial among the woke crowd?
It’s self-righteous hypocrisy at its worst. The same progressives who claim to support “diversity” and “unity” turn their backs on what unites every American: our Independence Day. They’d rather virtue-signal on social media than admit that, yes, the American experiment worked—and keeps working, despite their constant doom-and-gloom.
Maybe the left is just upset because the rest of the world gets it and they don’t. Americans should ask: If even London and Paris can cheer for the Stars and Stripes, why can’t the woke elite in their own country put politics aside, just for one day? If the left can’t find anything worth celebrating about America at 250 years, maybe the problem is with them—not with this incredible nation.
