Gavin Newsom is at it again, proving just how out of touch California’s elites have become. For years, even he seemed to realize that a so-called “wealth tax” would shred what’s left of the Golden State’s economy. Now, all of a sudden, he’s not only cheering this disastrous idea—he wants to shove it down the throats of every American.
It’s almost funny, if it weren’t so embarrassing. Newsom and his liberal friends watched as businesses and families fled California in droves. Why did they leave? Sky-high taxes, endless regulations, and leaders who would rather virtue-signal than face reality. The state’s richest job creators packed up for Texas and Florida—somewhere that respects hard work and success instead of punishing it. But Newsom didn’t care. Now, instead of learning from his failures, he wants everyone else to pay the price for California’s mistakes.
Let’s call this what it is: blatant hypocrisy. Newsom once acted like he knew a wealth tax was a terrible idea. But as soon as the radical left needed a shiny new way to loot the pockets of America’s most productive citizens, he switched sides. Why? Because deep down, these liberals aren’t interested in real solutions. They just want more control, more cash, and more power.
The facts don’t lie. When you punish achievement, people stop achieving. When you tax the American dream, the dreamers move elsewhere. Globalists and woke politicians like Newsom just don’t get it. Instead of protecting freedom, they plot to take more and give less. The only thing a coast-to-coast wealth tax will do is wreck our economy, make us less competitive, and drive out what’s left of our nation’s backbone.
Here’s the real question: if Newsom didn’t believe this nonsense was good for his own state, what makes him think the rest of America wants it? It’s time for leaders who actually love this country and respect hard work—not politicians who think government deserves a cut of your success just for existing.
