Democrat cities descend into chaos as July Fourth erupts in gunfire and mayhem

Milwaukee and Chicago looked more like war zones than American cities this Fourth of July weekend. Gunfire echoed through the streets, chaos took over, and police officers ended up in the hospital. The carnage isn’t just a fluke—this is the direct result of decades of failed Democrat leadership. The so-called progressives running these cities would rather punish law-abiding citizens than get tough on thugs torching neighborhoods.

In Milwaukee, police were stretched thin dealing with street takeovers, brawls, and non-stop gunshots. Officers got injured—one run down by a car, another hit by a firework. An 18-year-old suspect actually hit a cop with his car and opened fire at police while tearing through downtown in the middle of the night. The police finally caught him, wounded from the shootout. A loaded gun was found in his car, and another one nearby. This is supposed to be the “entertainment district.” Now it’s a battleground.

The city’s response? The Milwaukee Common Council tried to ban food trucks after dark as if the aroma of tacos is what’s triggering this violence. It would be laughable if lives weren’t on the line. Meanwhile, the courts treat gun crime like a parking ticket. Dangerous offenders walk out the front door and go right back to terrorizing decent people. The leftist politicians do nothing but pass the blame and tie the hands of law enforcement.

Over in Chicago, things are even worse. Twenty people shot, four killed—including a child—and stabbings on top of it all. Instead of investing in public safety, the city killed its Shotspotter program, making it harder for police to even respond to shootings. The mayor churns out empty statements while bodies pile up. The governor shrugs and tries to claim rampant crime is just how things are in the city. It’s sickening.

Here’s the real kicker: These “leaders” hide behind security details paid for with taxpayer dollars while families fend for themselves on streets crawling with violence. Liberals like to lecture America about “justice” and “equity,” but their soft-on-crime policies end up killing more Black men than any of their political rivals. Americans deserve real leaders who will stand up for safe streets—not this shameless, deadly circus run by left-wing ideologues. How much more destruction will it take before Democrats admit their experiment has failed?
