Something rotten is going on in Huntington Beach. Once again, a radical leftwing attorney is running to the courts, trying to rig the rules when he can’t win the game outright. Kevin Shenkman, a name that pops up every time Democrats want to bully local communities, has succeeded in convincing a judge to throw out a century of traditional voting. And get this—right in the middle of an election cycle. They call it “ranked-choice voting,” but it’s just another way for liberals and globalists to keep real Americans from having a fair say.
Now, the people of Huntington Beach are being forced to toss away the simple, American system we’ve always used: vote for the person you want, and the one with the most votes wins. Plain, honest democracy. But that’s not good enough for the elites. They want confusing ballots and complicated math, so they can sneak their chosen candidates into office. That’s what this is really about—erasing the voice of everyday citizens, especially in cities brave enough to stand against California’s far-left agenda.
This is classic leftist hypocrisy. For years, liberals have whined about “protecting democracy,” but when voters don’t pick the folks they want, they change the rules. Instead of reaching voters with better ideas, they weaponize the courts. Shenkman and his cronies never seem to care when their schemes upend elections and leave regular people scratching their heads come voting day. If liberals can’t win, they simply redraw the playing field.
Huntington Beach has always stood tall and refused to be bullied by Sacramento’s nonsense. That’s exactly why it’s become a target. The globalist crowd just can’t handle the idea that some places still value tradition, common sense, and real American values. So, they run to an activist judge, crying foul until they get their way. Enough is enough.
Why should leftwing busybodies in black robes dictate how free communities pick their leaders? Since when did local democracy mean “do as the liberals say, or else”? The people of Huntington Beach deserve better than meddling elitists and rigged election tricks. Are we really just going to let these radical schemes, concocted behind closed doors, steal the voice of the people? Not on our watch.
