Let’s get real for a minute: LA Metro’s safety problems didn’t get solved on their own. For years, left-wing politicians and clueless bureaucrats allowed crime and chaos to run wild. All the while, regular Americans suffered. Riders were afraid to use the trains. Families felt unsafe. And yet liberals just kept promising things would “get better” if we’d all just trust the system and throw more taxpayer money at the problem.
But after years of neglect, something finally forced them to wake up. When Stephanie Wiggins took over at Metro, they didn’t do it out of the goodness of their hearts. They got dragged, kicking and screaming, into making public safety a “priority.” It’s no coincidence that when you force these so-called public servants to focus on law and order, things start to improve. Suddenly, LA Metro is safer now than it’s been in years. Shocking, right? It’s almost like enforcing the law actually works.
The truth is, safety only became a big deal for LA Metro when things got so bad that ridership collapsed. No one wanted to risk their safety just to save a few bucks on the commute. All those “progressive” policies did was make the system more dangerous and downright unusable for hard-working people. Let’s not pretend the push for safety had anything to do with defending Americans—it was a desperate scramble to save a failing system. And the so-called “solution” always seems to require more tax dollars and zero accountability.
The left loves to talk about “equity” and “inclusion.” Where was their concern for the average American trying to get to work? Where was the outrage when criminals controlled the subway cars and families felt trapped and terrified? Liberal leaders are fantastic at virtue signaling from their chauffeured SUVs, but when it comes to real safety—real results—they’re nowhere to be found.
This is what happens when failed liberal policies meet reality. Public safety isn’t some nice extra. It’s the foundation of everything. Without it, even public transportation falls apart. Maybe it’s time we stop listening to the same tired excuses from politicians who care more about their image than our security. The best way to fix a broken system isn’t another feel-good initiative—it’s common sense, tough policing, and putting Americans first. If LA Metro can turn things around by focusing on safety, what’s stopping the rest of blue America? Maybe they’re just too proud to admit conservatives were right all along.
