The Democrats love to talk about “believe women” and “zero tolerance.” But when one of their own—Maine Senate hopeful Graham Platner—gets hit with a shocking sexual assault allegation, suddenly those high-minded standards get tossed out. Democratic Rep. Ro Khanna and Senator Ruben Gallego only decided to pull their support after this bombshell broke, and everyone started to pay attention. Apparently, the left isn’t proactive when it’s one of their own; they’re just reactive, scrambling at the last minute to save their own skin.
The allegations are disturbing, yet not at all surprising given the moral rot festering inside today’s Democratic Party. Platner is accused of forcefully violating a woman after breaking into her home. Instead of facing any real scrutiny or consequences, he spent months enjoying glowing endorsements from top Democrats. It took public outrage for these so-called “leaders” to even act. Is this the ethical compass that Democratic voters are proud of?
The left always wants to lecture America on “protecting women,” but it’s clear their outrage only applies when it’s politically convenient. For years, they’ve weaponized MeToo against conservative men, all while circling the wagons for their own when it counts most. Ask yourself: would any conservative candidate ever be treated this softly by Democrat elites or the compliant media if the roles were reversed? Of course not. They’d be smeared around the clock, run out of public life, and there wouldn’t be so much as a whisper of hesitation.
It’s no secret that Democrats value politics over principle. For them, keeping power matters more than protecting women or maintaining moral standards. Look at how quickly Khanna and Gallego tried to distance themselves once public outrage threatened their reputations—never mind the actual victim. It’s a masterclass in hypocrisy, and sadly, exactly what we’ve come to expect from the party obsessed with double standards.
Once again, the so-called “party of women” has shown its true colors, putting the Democrat machine above all else. Liberals can keep pretending to be the champions of victims, but the evidence tells a different story. When accountability puts Democrats’ power at risk, the rules change. Is anyone still buying what these phonies are selling?
