Yet another day, yet another welfare cash scandal breaking out in liberal-run California. Food stamps are supposed to put dinner on the table for struggling families. Instead, they keep fueling scams right under the noses of clueless leaders who seem allergic to basic oversight. At a corner shop in Los Angeles—Escamex Party Supplies, of all places—authorities say the EBT cards meant for people in need became a gold mine for fraudsters.
The owner, Jesse Cervantes-Gomez, allegedly cooked up a nice little racket: he’d swipe poor folks’ SNAP cards, make up fake purchases, and then hand the recipient fat wads of cash—about half of what the taxpayers paid out. Was any of this food for hungry kids? Not a chance. More like easy money for whoever was bold enough to play the system. Meanwhile, Democrats insist there’s just no reason to tighten up welfare programs. Apparently, fraud is just the price of “compassion.”
Let’s be honest. The welfare state has turned into one gigantic ATM for scammers, and the left shrugs every time. Whether it’s cash walking out the back door of a bodega or “refugees” cashing in on loopholes, this is the kind of chaos that happens when politicians put virtue-signaling above real accountability. Taxpayers foot the bill, but criminals get the feast.
Who gets hurt the most? Not the crooks running this backroom hustle. It’s everyday Americans stuck paying higher food prices and watching their hard-earned money burned by a broken system. Honest families are forced to compete with con artists for help the government can’t even track. Only the globalist elite in Sacramento could look at this mess and claim, somehow, that it’s working.
Why does fraud like this keep happening? Because California’s liberal politicians care more about buying votes than cleaning up their house. With every new handout, there’s another hole straight to the underground economy. Only fools think socialism will save anyone. It just breeds more waste, more fraud, and more rot—at least until voters decide they’re tired of being conned.
