Democrats love to talk about “accountability”—but as usual, it only applies to conservatives. When their own are caught up in scandal, liberals close ranks, make excuses, and sweep the dirt under the rug. Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner may be the latest and ugliest example. Despite explosive sexual assault allegations and reports swirling about a disturbing Nazi tattoo, Democrat leaders didn’t run from him. They cheered him on, thinking nothing of dragging the American public through yet another shameful political mess.
The left wants everyone to forget what Platner stands accused of. They want this nightmare to disappear for the sake of power. Instead of listening to the women who bravely came forward, top Democrats pointed fingers at Republicans—claiming it’s all just another conspiracy. Funny how the party that preaches “believe all women,” suddenly turns stone silent when the accused is one of their own.
It’s not just about one flawed candidate. The real story here is about a party with no standards except doubling down to win. Democrats propped up Platner at every turn. They ignored red flags. They dismissed the allegations. They pressured progressives to forget principle and rally behind a candidate who—by any reasonable standard—should never have been allowed to run for office. If this sort of thing happened on the right, every national news anchor would be screaming for answers. But because it’s a Democrat, the press magically loses interest.
Globalist interests and anti-American elites don’t care about integrity. It’s clear they’ll defend any candidate who pushes their agenda—even if that means turning a blind eye to offensive behavior and sickening accusations. The people of Maine—and all Americans—should be appalled at how easily Democrat leaders sold out their values for political gain.
For a party that loves to label conservatives as “extremists” and “threats to democracy,” Democrats sure have no problem enabling their own bad actors. If this is their idea of leadership, it’s no wonder so many Americans are fed up with liberal hypocrisy. Are voters supposed to just ignore the rot in their own house, or is this finally the moment we demand real accountability from the party that claims to represent “progress”?
