Democrats in Maine are melting down—again. Just as the left tries to sweep the wreckage of their last scandal under the rug, another Democrat with a troubled record pops right up. Liberals paraded Graham Platner as their golden boy for the Senate, but now he’s drowning in allegations that should have sunk his campaign days ago. It took a bombshell rape accusation for fellow Democrats to even think about tossing him aside. Where was their outrage and “believe all women” routine before it became politically inconvenient?
But the circus doesn’t stop there. The so-called solution? Maine Democrats are shopping around for a replacement, and the choices only get worse. First, they flirted with Nirav Shah, a former CDC director with his own baggage. That didn’t stick, so they’ve moved on to Troy Jackson—a man whose claim to fame is coming in a distant fifth in a gubernatorial race. If that’s the best they can do, it speaks volumes about the state of Democrat leadership.
Here comes the kicker: Jackson isn’t scandal-free, either. Now he’s facing some ugly claims that, during an argument, he hurled a water bottle at a female colleague and struck her. Think about that. These are the so-called “champions” of women’s rights? The party of righteous outrage when it’s a Republican in the spotlight suddenly goes tone deaf when it’s their own guy caught being allegedly violent. And it’s not just Jackson. Word is, bad behavior toward women is an “open secret” in Maine Democratic circles. Are voters supposed to just accept this?
Of course, the left’s playbook is simple: deny, dodge, and defend—unless the accused stands in the way of their political machine. A staffer in Jackson’s camp claims the incident never happened, but anyone paying attention knows that Democrats only care about “credible accusations” when it damages the other side. Their own get a wrist slap and a pass if there’s an election at stake. And progressives, predictably, are talking about more “investigations”—which might as well mean endless foot-dragging and hope everyone forgets by November.
At a time when voters desperately need real leaders, Maine Democrats are busy protecting their own, covering up bad behavior, and pushing utterly compromised candidates. If this is the future the left wants for America—one ruled by secrecy, double standards, and dangerous men hiding behind progressive slogans—it’s not just Maine that’s in trouble. It’s the entire country. How much longer will Americans tolerate this corrupt clown show?
