It looks like the Democrats are at it again, proving that their own standards are nothing but a political game. In Maine, their hand-picked Senate nominee Graham Platner is now spiraling after facing a sexual assault allegation. The so-called party of “believe all women” wasted no time tossing him overboard, now that it’s politically inconvenient to stand by their man. Even Bernie Sanders, the socialist hero himself, joined the mob, telling Platner to pack it in and disappear.
Let’s not forget, these are the same Democrats who tripped over themselves in support when Platner was making promises about free stuff and pushing far-left policies. But as soon as the first sign of scandal (and it’s not even the first one for Platner—remember his Nazi tattoo controversy and ugly relationship allegations?) hit the headlines, his progressive pals started running for the exits. Bernie, Elizabeth Warren, and the rest are suddenly waving the white flag, desperate to swap in someone less embarrassing before the deadline.
Platner’s problems are a disaster of their own making. The left keeps whining about ethics and accountability, but when their own candidate is under fire, they toss out loyalty and due process in a heartbeat. Now, even the big-money donors are abandoning him. The Democrat establishment has already started pulling financial support out of Maine, basically conceding the race. Don’t expect any heartfelt apologies or explanations from the party bosses. They’ll quietly sweep this mess under the rug, then turn around and pretend they’re the champions of justice and morality.
Meanwhile, Republicans in Maine can watch this clown show in relief, as the Democrats prove—once again—that their so-called leadership is a house of cards. Susan Collins, a proven voice of reason and stability, is up against a left-wing circus plagued by scandal, chaos, and virtue-signaling. Voters are supposed to trust these people with the future of the country?
This is what happens when a party cares more about radical posturing than the truth. The left claims to stand for victims and justice, but when things get messy, they don’t hesitate to eat their own. If this is the best the Democrats can do, maybe it’s time they took a long, hard look in the mirror—before asking America for another ounce of trust.
