Democrats Love Lecturing Us—But Look Who They’re Protecting Now
Once again, the left proves that their so-called “moral high ground” is nothing but a pile of political quicksand. Just take a look at the circus surrounding Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner. This isn’t some minor slip-up or a few awkward tweets. We’re talking about serious allegations of sexual assault, stories of aggression toward women, a Nazi tattoo, and an online history oozing with hatred and filth. Yet for months, Democrats cheered him on. Apparently, “believe all women” only matters when targeting a Republican.
Now, when the ugly truth finally becomes too hard to ignore, some Democrat leaders are backpedaling—fast. But not everyone. Elaine Luria, a former congresswoman trying to claw her way back into power, shrugged off the rape allegations as just another “scary story” cooked up to distract voters. Are these people even human? This is the party that spent years shouting about “the war on women” and painting conservatives as monsters. But when one of their own is accused not just of being crass, but of actual violence, it’s suddenly business as usual.
The details are hard to stomach. According to multiple women, Platner’s behavior creeped from “troubling” to outright dangerous. One former girlfriend claims he forced himself into her home, drunk, and ignored her pleas to stop. Others describe being physically threatened, even locked in rooms. And let’s not forget his foul, racially charged online rants or his smug blame-shifting toward female victims of rape. The left shouts about “toxic masculinity,” but what could be more toxic than excusing this from your own side?
Democrat leaders didn’t care about Platner’s record until it threatened their political fortunes. It’s embarrassing. It’s disgusting. Instead of dumping him at the first sign of his rotten character, they praised him until his baggage became too heavy to carry. That’s the real face of liberal politics: loyalty before morality, votes before victims. Where’s the outrage from the #MeToo crowd now?
Platner is the product of a party obsessed with power, not principles. If it means ignoring women, excusing violence, or dismissing evil as a “shiny new thing,” Democrats have shown they’ll do it—over and over. Voters should remember who circled the wagons when it counted most. How many times must we watch the left protect their bad apples before Americans finally say, “Enough is enough”?
