President Trump isn’t afraid to speak the truth, even when it makes globalists squirm. At the recent NATO summit, he did what weak-kneed career politicians in Washington would never dream of: He called out Spain, a supposed “ally,” as a complete waste of America’s time—and had the guts to say that we should end all trade with them. This isn’t just about Spain. It’s about a broken system that allows America to get ripped off while our enemies and so-called friends laugh behind our backs.
For decades, the elites in Brussels and on Capitol Hill have worshiped globalism, no matter how badly it hurts American workers. They’ll bend over backward for countries that refuse to carry their own weight. Spain has been riding America’s coattails in NATO, dodging its fair share while pocketing our money and enjoying our protection. Enough is enough. Trump knows America is not the world’s piggy bank, and he’s not going to let our country be played for a fool anymore.
Naturally, the liberal media and their Democrat pals will clutch their pearls and cry about “international relationships” and “damage to alliances.” What they’re really worried about is losing control. They want us weak, apologizing to the Europeans, and giving away American jobs just to look nice at fancy meetings. But Trump doesn’t care about their feelings—he cares about getting results for regular Americans. That terrifies the globalists and their friends in the press.
Let’s be honest: What exactly has Spain brought to the table besides demands and excuses? Under liberal leadership, they offer little, take much, and love to lecture America about how we should run our country. Trump isn’t afraid to call out these freeloaders and say what every patriotic American is thinking. If they aren’t willing to step up, why on earth should we keep sending our money, factories, and jobs over there?
If turning off the gravy train to Spain makes bureaucrats nervous, good. Maybe it’s time the world remembers who built the West—and who’s been carrying it ever since. Trump’s America is tired of bad deals and phony friends. Maybe other countries need a wake-up call too—because America First isn’t just a slogan. It’s a promise.
