It’s amazing how the liberal media always cries about “threats to democracy,” but when one of their own candidates crashes and burns for being a total disgrace, suddenly it’s just business as usual. That’s exactly what happened in Maine, where Susan Collins, one of the last Republicans standing in a deep-blue state, was expecting to face off against Graham Platner—a man whose only real achievement was racking up scandal after scandal. We’re talking about brutal allegations of rape, sick social media posts, and even a Nazi tattoo. The left was literally about to run a walking, talking opposition ad against themselves!
But now, with Platner out, the Democrats think they’ve been handed a golden ticket. Oh, how fast the narrative flips when their chosen candidate gets revealed as a total degenerate. Instead of finally being honest about the rot in their own party, they’re desperately scrambling to pick someone—*anyone*—who hasn’t publicly embarrassed themselves yet. Sorry, Maine Democrats, but picking a candidate at the last minute because your last one was a disaster? That’s not democracy. That’s a clown show.
Let’s be real: Susan Collins has survived far worse. The “experts” said she would lose in 2020, but she crushed those predictions and won by a landslide. The so-called “blue wave” that liberals keep promising ended as a puddle in Maine. Now the big “danger” is that Collins might actually have to run against a candidate whose only qualification is not being actively radioactive. Democrats think this is going to be a walk in the park, but in reality, they’re the ones on thin ice—because they still have no message, no backbone, and no clue about what Mainers actually care about.
And let’s not forget: the Democrats are picking this new candidate out of pure desperation. No Democratic voters picked this person in a fair contest. Party elites will hand-select their puppet and expect Mainers to fall in line. If this is “protecting democracy,” as the left likes to claim, it sure looks a lot like old-school, smoke-filled-room politics.
Collins has always had to fight the double standard that mainstream media loves to stack against Republicans. But she’s proven, time and time again, that she can win when no one else expects her to. Meanwhile, Democrats are just hoping they can find someone bland enough that voters forget how chaotic their party really is. Maine deserves better than the left’s endless sideshows and bait-and-switch tactics. Maybe the real question is: what are Democrats so desperate to hide?
