Top cartel boss lived luxury life in San Diego thanks to liberal policies until DOJ shut him down

The American dream wasn’t meant for ruthless criminals. Yet here we are—learning that a top-tier cartel boss, a so-called “Rugrat” leader, thought he could live the high life right under our noses in sun-soaked San Diego. This wasn’t some nameless thug hiding in the shadows. This was a brazen, notorious criminal, embedded in Southern California as if he were just another neighbor enjoying the beach and the palm trees.

How did we get to this point? The answer is simple: years of open borders, soft-on-crime policies, and clueless liberal politicians rolling out the red carpet for bad actors. While families suffered from skyrocketing crime, fentanyl pouring in, and streets overrun by dangerous gangs, the left only cared about looking “compassionate” for their globalist pals and virtue-signaling press releases.

Meanwhile, real Americans—taxpayers, law-abiding citizens—have had to watch as the woke crowd puts their “rights” ahead of our security. San Diego, once a proud emblem of California freedom, now finds itself targeted by international crime syndicates. These criminals don’t care about our laws. Why would they? The left has encouraged them at every turn, ignoring border security and making a complete mess of law enforcement priorities.

Thankfully, our Department of Justice appears to finally be waking up—at least for today. The cartel leader’s fantasy lifestyle is crumbling as the DOJ cracks down and unseals an indictment. But let’s not pretend this is enough. For every kingpin caught, how many more are hiding in plain sight, enjoying the perks of California’s broken system?

It’s long past time we returned to common sense: defend the border, punish criminals, and stop apologizing for wanting safety in our communities. The only “American dream” these cartel bosses deserve is a one-way ticket to a prison cell. Maybe liberal politicians in Sacramento will finally realize that hugging a criminal doesn’t make the world safer. Or are they too busy enjoying their own California dream to notice what’s happening next door?
