Britain is spiraling into chaos, all thanks to its blind obsession with so-called “Net Zero” policies. While the liberal elite pat themselves on the back for “saving the planet,” everyday Brits are left fretting about whether the lights will stay on this winter. The country’s energy operator is now scrambling—again—literally begging for extra electricity just to keep the power grid from collapsing. Meanwhile, the usual suspects in government continue to deny there’s any risk of a blackout. It’s hard to believe this is the same nation that once dominated the world with industry and innovation.
Let’s not pretend this was unforeseeable. Decades of shutting down reliable coal and gas plants, all to appease woke environmentalists, have turned Britain’s energy system into a ticking time bomb. When you trade proven power for windmills and wishful thinking, this is what you get: rolling blackout threats, rising costs, and national embarrassment. The only thing “green” about this mess is the vast piles of taxpayer money burned in the name of globalist climate goals.
Of course, the government has plenty of excuses. They insist the grid is “resilient” and there’s no need to worry, all while making secretive pleas for emergency electricity. When the facts don’t fit their narrative, they just try to sweep them under the rug. It’s the same old liberal playbook—deny, distract, and double down—even while families are left fearing a cold, dark winter.
What’s truly outrageous is that all this suffering is fueled by ideological arrogance. The powers that be would rather risk national security than admit their pet projects have failed. Ordinary citizens are paying the price while politicians sip champagne at climate summits, congratulating each other for pledges they’ll never have to live under. It’s a rigged game, and working people are losing.
Britain should be a warning to America—and every nation that still believes in common sense. If we let the climate hysterics run the show, our own energy reliability will be next on the chopping block. How many blackouts will it take before these elitists admit their grand experiment isn’t working? Or is it too much to ask for government that cares more about its citizens than UN approval?
