Los Angeles lets illegal vendors thrive while restaurants get crushed

Los Angeles has officially become a playground for lawlessness under the leadership of Mayor Karen Bass. The city’s politicians bend over backwards for illegal immigrants, rolling out the red carpet for street food vendors who flout every rule in the book. Meanwhile, hard-working American restaurant owners get slapped with fines, face sky-high costs, and risk getting their entire businesses shut down. If you’re a legal citizen trying to follow the rules, the message is clear: you’re not welcome.

The real slap in the face? City officials barely lift a finger against the flood of unlicensed vendors, many of whom aren’t even in the country legally. They clog up sidewalks, skirt health regulations, and somehow get away with it—all because Los Angeles cares more about the feelings of lawbreakers than protecting small business owners who toe the line. These street carts operate with little to zero oversight, while actual restaurants drown in red tape and endless government inspections.

Liberal leaders like Mayor Bass love to talk about “equity” and “justice.” What does that mean in Los Angeles? It means special treatment for those who break the law and punishment for those who try to follow it. Honest restaurant owners get squeezed for every permit and forced to pay for expensive upgrades, just so they can keep their doors open. But if you set up a food cart on a street corner without a shred of paperwork, you’re good to go.

This is more than just incompetence—it’s hypocrisy. The liberal elite in Los Angeles pass the most burdensome rules possible, then turn around and ignore them whenever it fits their globalist agenda. This isn’t just unfair; it’s un-American. Our founding principles are being sold out in broad daylight. Law-abiding citizens are penalized while rule-breakers get handouts, all for the sake of looking “compassionate” to the woke crowd.

At the end of the day, why would any sane entrepreneur choose to open a restaurant in LA when it’s so much easier to ignore the law altogether? It’s no wonder this city is losing its best and brightest. When will the people finally demand a government that stands up for Americans—rather than rewarding illegal behavior and punishing those who play by the rules?
