It’s almost laughable how far left-wing officials will go to cozy up with America’s enemies. New York City’s Mayor Zohran Mamdani has managed to make himself look like the absolute fool. His administration tried to sneak an official meeting with the United Nations ambassador from Iran—yes, the very same Iran that chants “Death to America” like it’s their national anthem. Is there any limit to liberal recklessness?
Let’s call this what it is: when a city leader’s team tries to set up backroom chats with rogue regimes, you know they’re not thinking about American interests. Iran has made it clear they despise us, and yet Democrat politicians rush to throw out the welcome mat. It’s pure insanity. It doesn’t count as “diplomacy” when you’re letting radical states whisper in American ears behind the State Department’s back. The only thing this stunt proved is that the left cares more about globalist feelings than keeping America safe.
Thankfully, there are at least a few adults left in the room. The U.S. State Department swiftly shut the whole circus down before it could get any messier. This embarrassing episode shows why Americans don’t trust Democrat leaders to handle foreign threats. They bend over so far backward to apologize for bad actors, they wind up flat on their faces.
Make no mistake—this isn’t just some harmless meeting. Iran has blood on its hands and continues to threaten our country and allies. Instead of standing strong against hostile regimes, Mamdani’s crew thought it was cute to extend an olive branch. It says everything about the priorities of the “progressive” crowd in charge of big cities: own goals, bad optics, and risking national security just to look “open-minded.”
Americans deserve leadership that puts the country’s interests first, not mayors who cozy up to dictators. If this is the kind of “courage” we get from Democrats, it’s no surprise our enemies keep pushing the envelope. Maybe next time, New York should elect someone who actually remembers which side they’re supposed to be on.
