What does true patriotism look like? It looks a lot like what happened this Fourth of July on the sunny beaches of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Apache helicopters — yes, the real deal — roared down the shoreline low and proud, piloted by heroes from the South Carolina Army National Guard. The crowd went wild, waving flags and cheering. Videos spread online faster than fireworks in the night sky. For a moment, you saw everything that makes America great: strength, pride, and the kind of military power that leaves our enemies shaking in their boots.
But no, that’s not good enough for today’s leftist bureaucrats. Instead of saluting these brave men and women, some armchair critics want investigations, paperwork, and more red tape. These liberals can’t see the thrill, the patriotism, or the pride. They only see problems to whine about or reasons to tear down what they don’t understand. It’s the same old anti-American nonsense from people who would rather bow to woke nonsense than respect those who defend our freedom.
No one complains when Hollywood rolls out fake military jets for another preachy blockbuster. No one bats an eye when politicians drop billions on their globalist pet projects. But when real soldiers do a flyover for the very people they swore to protect, suddenly the left wants to call it a “threat” or question the cost. That’s hypocrisy on parade. These critics are desperate to find something—anything—to distract from their own failures in supporting our troops and honoring our traditions.
Events like the Salute from the Shore are more than just a show—they’re a promise. They remind families and kids of all ages what it means to be American. This isn’t about scaring anyone. It’s about celebrating the men and women who keep us safe, and reminding the world that freedom is never free. Liberals in their cozy offices forget that, but you can bet the people on those beaches didn’t. They saw real heroes, not “controversy.”
If waving the flag and honoring our military offends the woke mob, maybe they’re living in the wrong country. Patriots shouldn’t have to apologize for celebrating America. Instead of chasing down our soldiers with witch hunts and bureaucratic nonsense, maybe the left should try a little gratitude. Or is that too much to ask from people who bend the knee for every cause but their own country?
