The political world stopped in its tracks with the sudden passing of Senator Lindsey Graham, just hours after meeting with Ukraine’s President, Volodymyr Zelensky, in Kiev. Many in Washington will shed performative tears, but let’s be honest—Graham was on the globalist hamster wheel until his last breath. Zelensky, quick as ever to put on a somber face for the cameras, wasted no time showing his “gratitude” for the senator’s devotion to Ukraine’s cause. One can’t help but notice how American politicians seem to care more about foreign wars than fixing the mess liberals have made right here at home.
It’s a real spectacle: American leaders tripping over themselves to fly to Kiev, while our own border gets overrun and crime tears families apart. The death of Senator Graham, right after cozying up to Zelensky, is a grim reminder of what happens when our elected officials forget who they’re supposed to serve. Liberal elites cheer these endless foreign entanglements—Ukraine today, who knows where tomorrow. Meanwhile, the American worker keeps getting the short end of the stick.
Zelensky’s eager display of public mourning shows where his priorities are, too. Thanking Graham, honoring his memory—it’s all a game in the world of professional politics. The sad truth is that the American taxpayer keeps footing the bill, sending billions overseas, while D.C. politicians get celebrated in foreign capitals as heroes. All this, while families back in South Carolina (and everywhere else) struggle under Biden’s reckless inflation, open borders, and crime waves set loose by weak leftist policies.
There’s a lesson to be learned, but will anyone in Washington actually pay attention? Liberal lawmakers are too busy virtue signaling about their “global responsibilities” to notice the real outrage at home. Ordinary Americans have lost faith in politicians who spend more time on foreign affairs than defending American jobs, borders, and values.
How many more so-called leaders have to die overseas before our government starts caring about Main Street, USA? Maybe when the money runs out, or when families have had enough, Washington will finally get the message: America First isn’t a dirty word—it’s the only path forward.
