The biggest difference between conservatives and progressives isn’t about policies or even party lines. It’s all about power. Conservatives believe America’s founders knew exactly what they were doing. They created a system with limits for a reason, making sure no one person—or group—could boss everyone else around. Conservatives fight to protect these principles because they work. Progressives, on the other hand, treat the Constitution like a dusty old relic. To them, it’s “living”—meaning they can twist it into anything they like.
Look at the modern left. Progressives see rules as a nuisance. For them, “experts” and bureaucrats should have all the control, and the ideas of average Americans don’t matter. This mindset didn’t just appear overnight. Woodrow Wilson, a hero to the progressive left, thought the founders’ strict limits on government were an obstacle, not a shield. His legacy is clear—give more power to the top, and let “smarter” people handle the rest.
Conservatives know where this leads. When progressives get free rein, the government grows into a monster. Ordinary folks end up with less choice, less freedom, and more decisions made far away from their lives. The left says it’s all for our own good—but it’s really about taking control. They disguise this power grab as “progress.” But what’s progressive about making government bigger and the individual smaller?
This is why conservatives stand in their way. Americans shouldn’t have to check with some expert in D.C. or follow the latest fad cooked up in a university ivory tower. The founders understood the dangers of unchecked power. They wrote a Constitution that puts freedom first, not the whims of politicians and technocrats. Progressives just want to tear that down, piece by piece.
Let’s be honest: liberals love to call themselves the “compassionate” ones, but they never seem to trust regular people with their own lives. Maybe they fear real Americans because they know we’ll never let them take control—they’ll have to rip liberty away from our hands. Isn’t it funny how the party claiming to stand for the people works so hard to boss them around?
