Democrats just can’t stop playing the victim card, and this time, Rep. Ro Khanna is the one caught faking a sympathy stunt. The California liberal was adamant that he’d been “detained” in the West Bank by Israeli authorities. The mainstream media barely paused before racing to amplify his so-called ordeal. But once actual facts started rolling in, it turned out Khanna’s story was more fantasy than fact.
When pressed on Fox News, Khanna looked like a deer caught in headlights. Israeli officials had no problem setting the record straight—apparently, Khanna’s dramatic “detainment” was little more than routine questioning at a checkpoint. Sorry, but being asked a few questions does not make you Nelson Mandela. Only an out-of-touch Washington elitist would claim otherwise.
Instead of using his trip abroad to support American allies, Khanna tried to twist a standard security measure into a headline-grabbing scandal. It’s no surprise he picked Israel, the one nation standing strong in the Middle East, as his punching bag. Liberals never miss a chance to bash an ally of the United States—maybe because they’re so busy cozying up to anyone else who might hate our country.
The American public deserves leaders who tell the truth, not politicians scrambling to push anti-Israel narratives for personal gain. If Democrats like Khanna spent half as much time defending American interests as they do concocting tales of “detainment,” maybe our foreign policy wouldn’t look like a globalist circus. But expecting honesty from this crowd is wishful thinking.
Ro Khanna cried wolf, got caught, and exposed just how hollow leftist stories really are. Next time a Democrat claims victimhood, maybe we should all ask: who’s really being detained here—the politicians, or the truth?
