The View co-host skips July 4th as her feud with the American flag reaches new levels

Someone needs to check on the co-host of “The View”—she might have missed America’s 250th birthday due to her ongoing, never-ending war with the American flag. It’s almost comical at this point. The rest of the country is celebrating with parades, fireworks, and cookouts, while Sunny Hostin stares daggers at Old Glory, convinced it’s nothing but a banner for so-called “white supremacy.” Maybe she locked herself away in a dark room to avoid the sight of America’s flag draped from every front porch.

The complaining never stops. Somehow, waving the American flag is now labeled a “far-right” thing in her world. According to her twisted logic, you can’t be proud of the Stars and Stripes without being lumped in with extremists. Liberals like her love to play this self-righteous game. They claim to speak for unity, but all they know how to do is label half the country as bigots. Guess what? Millions of Americans—of all backgrounds—flew the flag on the 4th, not because they hate anyone, but because they’re proud to be from the greatest nation on earth.

It’s insulting and tiresome, but also completely unsurprising. The radical left has gotten so lost in their hatred for tradition that even the flag triggers their outrage. That’s what happens when people are this desperate to prove how “woke” they are. Maybe the next time she’s overcome with American pride, she’ll manage to spit out a compliment before returning to her regular routine of bashing her own country on national TV.

Here’s a wild idea: if you dislike the flag, just say you dislike America. At least that would be honest! This constant dance of pretending it’s about “co-opting” or “redefining” symbols is as transparent as it is ridiculous. No amount of TV spin can change the fact that the flag belongs to every American—not just some preferred political class. The only thing “co-opted” here is common sense.

Americans are tired of being shamed for their patriotism by the same media elites who get rich tearing down the very country that gave them everything. Maybe on the next Independence Day, Sunny Hostin can embrace reality and celebrate with the rest of us…unless, of course, she puts herself back in that metaphorical coma until the fireworks die down.
