Joe Biden’s team has finally noticed what conservatives have been screaming about for years: Iran is pocketing billions by cheating the system and selling oil in the shadows. A Dubai-based smuggler named Mohammad Hossein Shamkhani is raking in cash for the Iranian regime, moving massive amounts of crude oil out under everyone’s nose. And let’s not forget—this isn’t just about oil. These networks are also shuttling weapons for Russia, fueling our enemies while the Biden administration plays catch-up.
This latest slap on the wrist from the Treasury Department—another round of sanctions—comes years too late. Shamkhani was already targeted once, but apparently, the so-called “smart” sanctions didn’t make a dent. Iran’s criminal masterminds laugh all the way to the bank, knowing the White House has no real backbone. It’s the same tired story we see every time Democrats are in charge: tough talk, little action, and the bad guys running wild.
Liberals keep preaching about “engagement” with Iran and giving them endless lifelines, but what has that gotten us? A hostile regime, flush with cash, openly helping Putin’s war machine in Russia. Instead of protecting American interests and our allies, the globalists bend over backwards for our enemies, letting money and weapons flow freely. If the left had their way, they’d probably invite Shamkhani to a summit and trust him to police himself.
Meanwhile, everyday Americans suffer at the pump because Iranian oil plays games with global prices. The left never explains why they go soft on rogue states like Iran, or why hardworking families have to pay the price for their failed ideas. When you reward evil, you get more evil—and under this administration, that message couldn’t be clearer.
It’s time to stop pretending sanctions alone will fix what incompetence broke. Iran’s shadow network won’t be stopped by Washington press releases. Maybe if the Biden crew spent less time appeasing dictators and more time defending American security, these oil pirates wouldn’t have billions to play with. Why do we keep letting the world’s worst actors outsmart us? Americans deserve better than limp leadership and endless apologies to our foes.
