DC elites crowned fittest again while real Americans tackle crumbling roads and real problems

There they go again: the liberal strongholds of Arlington, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., have been crowned the “fittest” cities in America for 2026. The self-proclaimed elites love awards like this. They act as if being able to jog on taxpayer-funded trails or do yoga in parks paid for by hardworking Americans means they’re somehow better than the rest of us. It’s all part of the never-ending campaign by coastal liberals to pat themselves on the back and push their warped version of progress.

While the limousine liberals of D.C. and Arlington brag about their fitness, ordinary Americans face roads full of potholes, crumbling businesses, and real problems that the political class ignores. Yet here we are, listening to the globalist urban planners try to tell us we should be more like them. They claim these cities are “fitter,” but look around: rising crime, skyrocketing rents, and more bureaucrats than actual workers. That’s not fitness—that’s arrogance wrapped in designer spandex.

Only the left could turn something as simple as physical fitness into a political talking point. For D.C. and Arlington, fitness isn’t about real health or hard work. It’s about virtue-signaling and feeling superior to everyday Americans who still believe in personal responsibility. How many of these “fit” folks rely on government handouts or nanny-state programs to afford their lifestyle? Don’t be fooled: real strength isn’t measured by who can run a 5K, but by who can build a business, raise a family, and defend our way of life.

If being “fit” means living in overpriced apartments next to career politicians and bureaucrats, most Americans will happily pass. Outside the Beltway, people are smarter and tougher. They face challenges head on—without government coddling or federal fitness awards. Maybe the rest of us don’t have time to jog past marble monuments all day, but we’re the ones who actually make this country work.

So, let the D.C. elite sip their kale smoothies and hand themselves trophies. Real America doesn’t need lectures from people who think “fitness” is an accomplishment worthy of national headlines. Maybe if they put half as much effort into fixing the country as they do into their yoga poses, we wouldn’t be in this mess. Who’s really fit for America’s future—out-of-touch liberals, or the everyday patriots who keep this country strong?
