FCC blindsides liberal media with bold move to save local news

Washington politicians, bureaucrats, and their media cronies have run the news for too long. They hide behind “rules” and “caps” to keep the same tired voices in charge, locking out anyone who isn’t singing the globalist tune. But finally, there is a glimmer of hope for local news in America—something the left says they care about, but never actually protects.

The FCC is moving to tear down an outdated ownership rule that’s been holding back local television stations for years. For too long, this cap served one purpose: to keep media moguls and national networks at the top, while local, boots-on-the-ground journalism gets choked out. The real workers in newsrooms—your neighbors, your community, and America’s small towns—are left scrambling for scraps while the elites rake in the cash.

Liberals love to talk about diversity and democracy. Yet, under their rules, only the biggest, woke-funded megacorps—think CNN and MSNBC—get bigger, while local news disappears. The American people know the truth: when local news stations can’t compete, the national narrative gets shoved down everybody’s throat. Suddenly, news in Iowa sounds just like news in New York—a left-wing echo chamber where facts come second, and the progressive agenda always comes first.

Chairman Brendan Carr isn’t afraid to call out this nonsense. By shifting the power back to people who actually care about their own communities, the FCC is finally breaking free from the chokehold of outdated rules. You want strong, independent journalism? Support the people who live, work, and report in your hometown—not billionaire-owned, leftist conglomerates based in New York or Hollywood.

It’s about time the federal government got out of the way and let real Americans run their own news. This move exposes liberal hypocrisy for what it is: a demand for diversity, so long as they control the message. The question is simple: are we going to let Washington and their media partners rule over small-town America forever? Or are we ready to take back the news? The answer seems more obvious every day.
