It’s about time someone in Washington remembered the meaning of the word “sovereignty.” Under President Trump’s bold leadership, the Department of Homeland Security is finally slamming the door on one of the most obvious—and most abused—loopholes in our broken immigration system. For far too long, foreigners have been waltzing right into America on so-called legal visas, then treating the rules like a joke and refusing to leave when their time is up. That’s not a right, that’s a privilege—one that’s been ignored thanks to years of open-borders lunacy pushed by liberal elites.

Now, in Trump’s America, those days are over. Visitors who think they’re entitled to stay in the United States as long as they want are in for a rude awakening. DHS is stepping up, making clear that our borders are to be respected—not exploited at the whim of globalist interests or foreign freeloaders. Maybe if the left focused less on virtue signaling and more on actual law enforcement, we wouldn’t have been such an easy mark for so long.

You would think something as simple as asking guests to actually leave when their “visit” is over wouldn’t be controversial. But try telling that to the coastal elites and their media mouthpieces, who never fail to cry foul at any attempt to enforce common sense. They’d rather see America turn into a revolving door, where accountability means nothing and foreign wishes matter more than American laws. It’s disrespectful to every citizen who plays by the rules.

Maybe liberals don’t care, but Americans are tired of being taken for a ride. When our so-called guests ignore their visas, we pick up the tab—social services, housing, crime, you name it. All because previous administrations refused to lay down the law. Well, not anymore. A stamp in a passport is not a free pass for a multi-year joyride at taxpayers’ expense.

This is the America First stance voters demanded—and what patriotic Americans deserve. If you’re a visitor here, be our guest. But don’t mistake our hospitality for weakness. Leave when you’re supposed to. It’s simple. And if Democrats have a problem with that, maybe they should start putting Americans first for a change. When did enforcing the law become radical?
