Last night in Maine, the Democratic Senate debate was an absolute circus. Anyone who sat through that train wreck saw the same thing: Susan Collins just won reelection—again. The Democrats managed to shoot themselves in both feet before anyone even got to the first real question. That’s what happens when your entire lineup is a bench of washed-up, failed candidates and sore losers from past primaries. There was no vision, no unity, and definitely no passion, just awkward stumbles and embarrassed faces.
Maine’s left-wing hopefuls are so desperate, they couldn’t even agree on basic issues—except daylight saving time. That’s right. With America on the brink, chaos at the border, and threats from abroad, the only thing these Democrats could tackle was whether the sun should rise earlier. These are supposed to be the people leading the so-called “resistance” against President Trump and Republican policies, but all they offered was confusion and hot air.
Their main strategy? Bash Susan Collins and hope something sticks. It didn’t. They tried to paint her as a Trump puppet and even as some kind of extremist. But the reality is Collins has always been a moderate, representing Mainers with a steady hand—even when her own party disagreed. Trying to hang Trump around her neck only made the Democrats look even more disconnected from reality, and it showed. On live TV, candidate after candidate fumbled over basic facts about Collins’ record. One even openly admitted to not knowing what was going on—because apparently, doing your homework is now optional in the Democratic Party.
And let’s not gloss over the baggage hanging over this entire Democratic mess. Their frontrunner was forced out after a scandal so obvious it was practically baked into the campaign from day one. Yet the Democrats can scarcely bring themselves to admit it, still parroting the failed agenda of a disgraced former candidate while pretending to be shocked at each new revelation.
These are the same tired leftists who rush to attack law enforcement, blame America first, and push identity politics over actual solutions. Maine voters are paying attention. If these clowns are the best the Democrats can offer, why should anyone trust them to lead?
Any Republican watching that debate had reason to celebrate—a weak, out-of-touch opposition is a gift that keeps on giving. Democrats in Maine should be embarrassed. So, here’s a real question: if this is the so-called “blue wave,” why does it look more like a puddle?
