Senator Thom Tillis is at it again, showing Americans exactly why the D.C. swamp never drains itself. It’s no secret that he’s been going out of his way to distance himself from real conservatives and President Trump—for months now he’s made it clear he’s fighting harder against his own party than against the Biden machine running amok in our country. You’d think a Republican would be standing at the front of the line to support basic voter ID and secure elections. Instead, Tillis acts like he’s on the side of every liberal activist who wants open voting rolls and chaos at the polls.
So what’s got him so upset? Simple. The idea of actually passing pieces of the SAVE America Act—a common sense, America First bill designed to keep elections secure and stop fraud dead in its tracks. Instead of defending voter integrity, Tillis is having a meltdown on the Senate floor, promising to blow up any bill that dares even mention protecting our ballots. He’s threatening to grind government to a halt if anyone tries to sneak election security into reconciliation. Who is this guy representing, because it sure doesn’t look like the people of North Carolina or the millions of Americans demanding secure elections?
Tillis claims that making these reforms before November is just too hard. Have we heard this lazy excuse before? Of course. It’s straight out of the left’s playbook—stall, delay, and block anything that might put an end to their favorite “glitches” and ballot shenanigans. Suddenly, enforcing clear rules and requiring voter ID is “impossible.” Funny how nothing is too hard when it’s time to pass massive handouts to foreign governments or sneak woke garbage into our kids’ classrooms. But tighten up elections? Now it’s a problem.
Americans are tired of this rigged game. Every time a conservative stands up and pushes for voter ID, professional politicians like Tillis circle the wagons and come up with every excuse in the book. The left couldn’t be happier—they love Republicans who do their dirty work for them. Make no mistake: there is nothing radical or extreme about securing our elections. What’s truly radical is refusing to protect the most basic right every citizen has.
Senator Tillis can stomp his feet all he likes, but he’s showing his true colors. Clearly, he’d rather sabotage his own party than let the people decide their leaders, fair and square. If he’s so offended by the SAVE America Act, maybe it’s time he admits who he’s really fighting for. Is it too much to ask for a Republican who puts America first?
