America is getting sick—literally—because of lettuce served in our own restaurants. Why? Because that lettuce came from Mexico, and our so-called “leaders” refuse to put the interests of the American people first. Health officials are reporting that lettuce used in Taco Bell restaurants across five states is behind a wave of stomach illnesses infecting thousands. Maybe if our border wasn’t as open as a drive-thru, our food wouldn’t be either.
This is the cost of America handing over its food safety to global interests. Instead of supporting American farmers, liberals prop up foreign imports and big businesses who care more about cheap lettuce than about the safety of families from Texas to Ohio. When foreign produce brings dangerous outbreaks to our communities, elites shrug and tell us to eat up.
Of course, the left wants everything to be “global”—from our jobs to our groceries to our very values. They claim it’s about “diversity” and “fairness,” but while they sip organic kale smoothies imported from across the world, working Americans are left suffering. Who pays the price when something goes wrong? Not the politicians, not the well-connected corporate CEOs—it’s ordinary people who get sick at their favorite fast-food joint.
Food safety is a national security issue, but liberals refuse to take it seriously. They’d rather police pronouns than protect our plates. If they spent half as much energy guarding our borders and inspecting our food as they do virtue signaling, maybe we wouldn’t be facing yet another health crisis from something as basic as lettuce.
How many more Americans need to wind up at the doctor just because liberal leaders love open borders and cheap foreign goods? This is what happens when we trust America’s health to globalist priorities instead of our own. Isn’t it time we started protecting our own dinner tables? Or will the left only wake up once they find their kale salad is the next victim?
