Floods in Texas: When Will the Left Wake Up?

Once again, Texans are facing the brutal wrath of Mother Nature, and this time, she’s brought devastation to the Texas Hill Country. A mighty flood has ripped through Uvalde County, swallowing up the FM 481 Bridge and leaving families stranded. The images are shocking—an entire chunk of the bridge just gone, rivers swallowing up docks, homes teetering on the edge. It’s chaos. And where is the liberal outrage? Where are the cries for real solutions?

Conservative leadership, as always, is stepping up while the left sits on its hands. Governor Greg Abbott has already mobilized thousands of rescuers and more than a thousand vehicles to pull people to safety, with helicopters flying in food and medical supplies to those left cut off by the raging river. But while the good folks of Texas dig in and help their neighbors, the radical environmentalists just use these tragedies to push their climate change fear-mongering and policies that only make things worse for everyday Americans.

Don’t forget, this isn’t the first time Texans have paid the price. Just one year ago, another so-called “historic” flood hit the same region, stealing the lives of almost thirty innocent campers and counselors. And yet, what has the government at large done since then? More red tape, more bureaucratic slow-walking, but never any real action that helps rural communities defend themselves against nature’s fury. The left’s solution is to take away your pickup trucks and jack up your taxes, while their billionaire donors jet around the globe.

It’s clear the problem isn’t the weather—it’s a government that puts globalist pet projects and virtue signaling above the safety of American communities. Texans shouldn’t have to wait for another disaster to see roads fixed, bridges reinforced, and emergency resources funded. The Hill Country is tough, but even the strongest need leadership that will fight for them rather than lecture them about carbon footprints.

Maybe it’s time for those in DC and their pals in the media to stop blaming Texas and start listening to real Texans. When the floods rise and the bridges fall, it’s not the leftist academics or Hollywood elites rushing to help—it’s the men and women who roll up their sleeves, face danger head-on, and get the job done. If only the rest of the country had that kind of backbone. How many more Texans have to suffer before the ruling class takes notice?
